Safety is always our top priority
At Toi-Toys, we consider the safety of our products to be of paramount importance. Recently, attention has been drawn to the possible presence of asbestos in play sand. Although we were not previously aware of this specific risk, we took immediate action.
As a precaution, we had all our sand products tested by a certified laboratory. The results showed that one of the tested products tested positive, which means that this product contains asbestos. The product in question is item 35886Z PUFFERZ Puffer figure sand - stretchable 33 cm 264 g 6 ass.
We regret this outcome; the safety of our toys is always our top priority. We will, of course, no longer sell this item and have immediately initiated a recall. Our other sand products comply with safety standards and can be used safely.

Q&A – Asbestos – play sand and recall
Additional checks revealed that one specific product contained asbestos in the play sand. As a precautionary measure and in accordance with regulations, we immediately initiated a recall.
The recall only concerns the following product:

Other products are not affected by this recall.
The amount of asbestos measured in this specific product was low. Asbestos can only pose a health risk when fibres are released, inhaled and exposure occurs over a longer period of time. Given the type of product, any exposure is limited and incidental. Nevertheless, asbestos fibres are not permitted in consumer products. As a precautionary measure, we have therefore immediately initiated a recall. The safety of children is always our top priority.
We ask consumers to stop using the product. The product can be returned to the shop or our customer service department can be contacted for a suitable solution.
Yes, other play sand products have been independently tested in accordance with recognised European analysis methods. No asbestos was found in these tests. We continue to actively monitor our products.
